LOGISTICS VALLEY

As it is known, the logistics sector in our country develops depending on the development of the domestic and foreign trade sector. Our country has shown a successful performance against all difficulties during the pandemic process. However, process-based innovations are needed to ensure that activities are carried out more effectively and efficiently, and R&D studies are needed to meet changing customer demands. Although some of our logistics companies have established R&D Centers and developed on the basis of information applications, how successful they are in product/service development is subject to a separate evaluation.

The logistics sector is one of the most critical sectors in the world, which undertakes the task of delivering products to customers at the right time, in the right quantity, in the right way, with the right documents and the right costs. Therefore, there is a great need for R&D and innovation studies in this field. Collaboration, synergy and necessary infrastructure are extremely important in R&D and innovation studies. They are areas that meet these criteria to a certain extent with clustering studies such as technoparks. For example, the Food Valleys of the World are innovation centers for the agri-food sector and are seen as an important part of food value chains. Such centers are located in countries such as the Netherlands (for example: Food Valley Organization), the United States (for example: Food Hub) where the productivity rates of agricultural sectors are high, as well as South Korea (for example: Foodpolis), China (for example: Jilin) where the sector is in a transformation with breakthroughs. Food Zone) is also located in countries such as India (for example: Food Park).

The logistics valley ecosystem can be defined as the collaboration between entrepreneurs, companies, research institutions, education and government institutions to realize innovative solutions related to the logistics industry worldwide. The valley in question will be a hub for logistics research and an innovation-based area, bringing together knowledge and entrepreneurship, hosting many national and multinational logistics and information supplier companies, working together and collaborating to develop innovative ideas in the field of logistics and supply chain management. will be the information production center that provides the environment in which they will work.
